An in-depth look at the packs our Team Carries on the streets and in the backcountry.

Well, this should be fun. A true test of my writing skills that does not have anything to do with sand, the ocean, or umbrella drinks.... Hmmm.... I was tasked with evaluating and reviewing our packs that our team carries. Well, here we go!

Kylea's Backpack

Osprey Aura AG 50

I was thoroughly impressed with its design. Osprey has long been renowned for producing high-quality outdoor gear, and the Aura AG 50 lives up to the brand's reputation with flying colors.

Comfort and Fit

The standout feature of the Aura AG 50 is its Anti-Gravity (AG) suspension system, which provides an unparalleled level of comfort and support. The mesh back panel and hip belt are incredibly well-padded and effectively distribute the weight of the pack, making it feel like you're carrying much less than you actually are. The adjustable harness system allows for a personalized fit, ensuring that the pack sits comfortably on a woman's torso, which is crucial for long hikes and extended trips. The load lifters and sternum strap also contribute to an even weight distribution, reducing strain on the shoulders and back.

Capacity and Organization

With a capacity of 50 liters, the Aura AG 50 strikes a perfect balance between being spacious enough to hold all the essentials for a multi-day trip and compact enough not to become unwieldy on the trail. The main compartment is accessible through the top lid, which can be removed if you prefer quick access to your gear. Additionally, the bottom compartment serves as an ideal space to keep your sleeping bag or other items separate from the main storage.

The backpack's organization is well thought out, with multiple pockets and compartments, including zippered hip belt pockets for easy access to snacks, a large front stretch pocket for stashing extra layers, and side pockets for water bottles or other items. The inclusion of a hydration reservoir sleeve and dual ice axe loops adds to its versatility for various outdoor activities.

Durability and Build Quality

Osprey is known for its attention to detail and durable construction, and the Aura AG 50 is no exception. The pack is made from high-quality materials, and the reinforced seams and robust zippers indicate that this backpack is built to withstand the rigors of the great outdoors. After extended use on rocky terrain and through changing weather conditions, the Aura AG 50 showed no signs of wear and tear.

Ventilation and Breathability

The AG suspension system not only enhances comfort but also improves ventilation. The mesh back panel allows for excellent airflow between the pack and your back, preventing excessive sweating and discomfort during hot and humid hikes. This feature is particularly appreciated during long, strenuous ascents, where breathability becomes crucial.

Style and Design

In terms of aesthetics, the Osprey Aura AG 50 scores high marks. The women-specific design is both functional and stylish, with a variety of color options to choose from. The sleek, streamlined profile of the backpack makes it visually appealing while maintaining its practicality.

I can confidently say that it is a top-notch choice for female hikers and backpackers. Its exceptional comfort, spacious yet manageable capacity, and smart organization make it a reliable companion for both short and extended outdoor adventures. The durability and build quality ensure that this pack will withstand the test of time, making it a worthwhile investment for any outdoor enthusiast. If you're in the market for a high-performing, women-specific backpack, the Osprey Aura AG 50 is undoubtedly one of the best options available.

The well-padded and ventilated mesh back panel, along with the adjustable shoulder harness and hip belt, makes carrying heavy loads surprisingly comfortable. The AG system effectively distributes the weight evenly, reducing pressure on the shoulders and hips, even during long treks. The fit is easily adjustable, accommodating various body types, and ensuring a snug and secure feel on the back.

Capacity and Organization

With a generous capacity of 65 liters, the Aether 65 strikes a perfect balance between providing ample space for all your gear and remaining manageable on the trail.
